I got a chance to collaborate with my favorite activewear brand, One Love One Tribe again and of course, the pictures came out amazing! I’m so thankful I was able to work with One Love again!
All items are sustainable, reversible, UV Protective and made out of recycled water bottles! How cool is that?
For a limited time use the code: Happy New Year to save some money on your purchase. Check out the pictures from the shoot below and see what my favorite items are from the collection!

This new print is featured in the pictures above and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw them!
This top is super cute for going to the gym or out to run errands, adds a sexy element to your daily look!
I had the honor of being invited to the 11th year anniversary dinner party for Beauty Blogger Afrobella! The dinner party was sponsored by ORS and put together by D.Williams PR!
The event was beyond Amazing, and I was just in awe that I was in the room. One of the highlights was Afrobella saying to me:
“You’re here because you belong in this room.”
That meant so much because Afrobella has been beauty blogging for 11 years has done so much for the natural hair community and the beauty community.
The party took place at the beautiful Blanc Gallery which made the perfect backdrop for this event. Throughout the night we shared our stories about who we are, prayed together and broke bread together.
I love networking with like-minded people who are all about uplifting and collaborating with one another.
While Dinner was being served we had the pleasure of hearing artist Gifted Keys beautiful voice. We also got a first look at the new relaunch of the Olive Oil line and a goodie bag full of items to try out! I can’t wait to use them!
All around excellent dinner, honoring a beautiful person, Afrobella! SO glad I was able to attend!

One of my goals for myself and Sweetheartswan was to learn more about blogging, business, and branding! So I looked up conferences that were closest to me in Chicago and stumbled upon The Fashion &Beauty Summit by Posh and Popular!
The summit was located in Detroit, MI which as you all know I just visited in April and to my surprise I had fun. So it’s safe to say I was excited to go back and explore a little bit more. I flew into Detroit on Friday, and the summit took place all day Saturday.
Of course, I ate good (Despite being on a diet plan) I still managed to keep up with my exercise routine while away.
I also got to explore the city a lot more than my last trip. Of course, I headed back to the place I loved dinner at last time, Central Kitchen+Bar. This time I had the Caesar salad with salmon…..AMAZING! Let’s get into this hotel!! I stayed at the Greektown hotel, and it was such a fantastic stay. I had the fitness room to myself (I mean who really works out on a mini vaca?) quiet floor and it was steps from dining and nightlife. Not to mention beautiful decor. Highly recommended.
I got a chance to visit the Charles H.Wright Museum and it was everything, you all know I love enriching cultural experiences. I wanted to go to Kuzzo’s for breakfast the last time I visited but wasn’t able too so I was so excited to go and I was not disappointed. (I couldn’t get the red velvet waffles like I wanted but I still enjoyed my meal )
The summit was excellent! SO many fashion savvy,business-minded women who either own businesses or want to and I learned SO MUCH.
I heard sessions with Ebony Swank, who talked about using what you have to start your business! Nichole Lynel discussed her rise to fame and success and how it all was taken away because the situation wasn’t right for HER. I also got the chance to meet Lyndsay Green who literally created her own brand and outlet for the beauty industry around the world through beauty atlas! Ronne Brown discussed how she turned teen motherhood into a learning and growing experience that fueled her entrepreneur spirit and her millionaire status.
Also, I was also inspired by the creator of this whole event and blog Posh and Popular, Kim Dobine and her story about why she created the posh and popular brand and what she wanted to accomplish with it and how God helped her achieve it!
(Shoutout to God)
MAJOR TAKEAWAYS:
Trust your Journey
Listen to God
Take that risk and think smart
Overall great trip but an amazing day of learning, networking, and fashion and I’m blessed I was able to attend and will for sure be using everything I learned to further SweetHeartSwan, the brand.
Fashion Note: the dress I wore to the summit is a dress from Zara (Comfy, Comfy and comes in Black!) and shoes from Zara as well!
Have you been to Detroit? Tell me your fave places?
In May, I had the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico for my best friends 30th Birthday Trip! It was a great trip, and PR has such beautiful scenery food and culture!
The Hotel we stayed at was fantastic. The rooms were clean and modern, and the view was breathtaking, the hotel staff was also so accommodating. (We changed rooms three times until we got a look we liked) Shoutout to the San Juan Marriott for the great stay and amicable staff!
I’ve decided that PR was my newest obsession! The spices and flavor of all the food we had were very pleasing to my foodie taste buds.
We also went to a cafe with a Chicago connection! It was called the Blessed cafe, and the owner’s son used to live in Chicago. His Mom was back in the kitchen cooking up the food. I had a tilapia sandwich which was surprisingly very good!
Overall I would come back to PR, especially since it’s only four hours on the plane! Grateful that I was able to even go on this trip! Such beauty.
